Privacy by default. Anything you choose to share is opt-in and never required.
Drac's Jukebox does not include ad networks, third-party analytics SDKs, or tracking pixels. Core playback does not require an account; account and support features only use account services when you sign in.
Where your data lives
- On your device. Downloaded tracks, cached artwork, saved queues, player preferences, and the local database stay inside the app sandbox on the device where Drac's Jukebox is installed.
- On your Subsonic server. Playback state, playlists, favorites, and play counts live on the server you choose to connect to, against your own Subsonic account. That server is operated by you or by whoever granted you access to it.
Server credentials
When a Subsonic-compatible (or, with Dee Jellie unlocked, a Jellyfin) server is added, the server URL and access token are stored in the iOS Keychain and the app's local database on that device. Credentials are sent only to the server being contacted, never anywhere else.
iCloud sync
Drac's Jukebox can optionally sync a small set of data (app preferences, unlocked themes and icons, and achievement progress) across your Apple devices through your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit). This data stays in your private iCloud container, accessible only to you and to apps you have authorized on devices signed in to your Apple ID. iCloud sync can be turned off in the app's settings or at the system level.
Podcast transcripts
Transcript-related podcast features depend on episode or service data that is available to the app. Core podcast playback, downloads, bookmarks, and iCloud sync do not require transcript data.
Purchases
In-app purchases, including the Supporter subscription and the Dee Jellie unlock, are handled by Apple through StoreKit. Payment details and billing information are processed by Apple and are not exposed to Drac's Jukebox.
Network traffic
Drac's Jukebox makes network requests only to:
- The Subsonic-compatible and/or Jellyfin servers you configure, for library browsing and playback.
- RadioBrowser, when the community radio directory is browsed. These requests carry no personally identifying information.
- The Apple Podcasts public directory and podcast RSS/audio hosts, when you browse, subscribe to, or play podcasts.
- Account services, when you sign in or request support.
- Apple-operated services (iCloud, StoreKit, the App Store) as part of normal platform behavior.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, this page and the "Last Updated" date above will be revised. Material changes will also appear in the app's release notes.
